Garage door off its track
A crooked door is carrying its weight wrong and can come down. Stop using it, keep clear and call.
Do this now
Don't press the opener button. Running it to straighten the door bends more track and can twist the panels.
Keep everyone out from under the door until it's back on.
Think back to what happened: a bump from the car, a bang, a cable hanging loose. Tell us on the call so we bring the right parts.
How doors come off the track
- A car nudged the door or the track
- A lift cable snapped and let one side drop
- Worn rollers jumped out of the track
- A bent section of track the rollers can't follow
Putting the door back on its track starts at $239, and the rollers get checked while we're there.
What can raise it
- A track section too bent to straighten
- A snapped cable (both cables from $229)
- Broken rollers that need replacing
The exact price comes at the door, before anyone touches the track.
Don't force it back
The springs and cables on a crooked door are still under high tension, and the door is hanging in a way it was never built for. Pushing, prying or hammering it straight can bring it down. Leave it as it is. If it's stuck open at night, call us then. We handle emergency calls after hours, and a weekend repair costs what a weekday one does.
Questions
Can I use the door if it's only a little crooked?
Please don't. A small tilt still means something has bent or let go, and running the door bends the track further.
What does it cost to put a door back on its track?
It starts at $239, with the rollers checked. If a cable snapped too, both cables start at $229.
Will the track need replacing?
Sometimes. A bent section can be straightened, and one that's bent too far gets replaced. You'll hear that price before we do it.
